With North Easterly winds prevailing, fishing around Exmouth Gulf and Tantabiddi this week, proved challenging but rewarding. Those boat hirers that launched from Tantabiddi did well catching Mackeral and Wahoo behind the reef. Further north and towards the Exmouth’s Murion Islands, boaters reported good catches of snapper, including blue line; blue bone; and some coral trout. Some who hired dinghies and headed down towards the bottom of Exmouth Gulf did well catching Blue Manner crabs. Squid have quietened down. With the winds finally beginning to swing south easterly and backing off this week we should see some typically excellent boating weather for Exmouth in August coming up.
