Tantabiddi/West Side Ningaloo Reef
Swell: After a very slow & patchy start to the season , the winter swell is finally here. All outer reef breaks have been working consistently with the crowd factor very low. Fun sized rights & lefts with all day offshore conditions
Lads hired the 7m boat headed west of the Murion Islands catching a mixed bag of red emperor, gold band snapper, rankin cod and eight bar cod. They fished using locally caught squid as bait . There are still plenty of squid around, just head for the weedy and reefy/weedy bottoms and cast your squid jig out.
Our skipper “Wog” took Scott Coghlin out for a days fishing in the 7.85m hire boat and showed him where black jews can be can be caught out in the gulf. Not much more can be said about spot X but that they are there. Much like Barramundi down Wapet Creek.
We sent another group of lads who hired the 6m polycraft boat out to North West Reef fishing for Mackeral. They ended landing some nice sized Shark Mackeral
